When you donate a car to ReviveRides here in Utah, your gift stays connected to your own community. We arrange a free, at-your-door pickup anywhere in the state—from Salt Lake City neighborhoods like Sugar House, Rose Park, and The Avenues to suburbs such as West Jordan, Sandy, Lehi, Bountiful, and Layton. A local tow partner comes right to your driveway, apartment lot, or farm road, and the proceeds from your vehicle help fund Heritage for the Blind’s programs for people who are blind or visually impaired.
The process is simple: you tell us where the vehicle is, and we coordinate a Utah-based tow operator to pick it up, usually within a few days. We handle vehicles in busy urban areas like downtown Salt Lake and Ogden, as well as more rural locations near Tooele, Heber City, Spanish Fork, and Cedar City. There’s no cost to you and no need to drive the car anywhere—even if it doesn’t run. Your local car donation supports a real 501(c)(3) nonprofit and turns an unwanted vehicle into meaningful help while making life easier for you.
How to schedule your free local pickup
1. Tell us about your Utah vehicle and location
Start online or by phone with your basic vehicle details—year, make, model, condition—and where it’s parked in Utah. Let us know if it’s in a driveway, carport, street spot, or rural property so we can match the right local tow truck.
2. Choose a convenient local pickup window
We’ll look at tow availability across your part of Utah—whether you’re in Salt Lake City, Provo, Ogden, St. George, Logan, or a smaller town—and schedule a free pickup. Busy metro areas may have more same-week options than remote rural roads.
3. Prepare your title and remove personal items
Before the tow truck arrives, clear personal belongings from the car and locate your Utah title. In most cases, you’ll sign the title over at pickup. If you’re missing paperwork, let us know in advance so we can talk through options.
4. Meet (or not) for the pickup itself
At pickup, the local driver will load the vehicle—running or not. In many Utah neighborhoods and suburbs, you don’t have to be home if we have legal access and signed documents arranged ahead of time; we’ll explain what’s needed for your situation.
5. We handle sale and send your tax receipt
ReviveRides manages the sale of your donated vehicle, and the proceeds support Heritage for the Blind’s mission. After the vehicle is processed, you’ll receive a tax receipt. For values over $500, you’ll also get the IRS Form 1098-C information you’ll need.
6. Your local donation supports people who are blind
Your Utah car donation helps fund services and support for people who are blind or visually impaired through Heritage for the Blind. You’ve cleared space at home and made a difference that starts right here in your community.
Local pickup gotchas
Tight downtown or canyon streets
Tip: In dense areas like downtown Salt Lake City, Sugar House, Provo near campus, or narrow canyon roads, a full-size flatbed may struggle to reach your exact spot. Tell us about steep hills, tight turns, or alley access so we can plan truck size or ask you to park in a more accessible location if possible.
Gated communities and secure parking
Tip: If you live in a gated community in places like Daybreak, Draper, or Farmington, or your vehicle is in an apartment garage, the tow driver will need gate codes, parking permits, or concierge instructions. Share those details when scheduling so the driver doesn’t get turned away and need a second trip.
Very rural or seasonal roads
Tip: For rural parts of Utah—such as outlying areas near Vernal, Moab, Panguitch, or small ranch roads—pickup may take a bit longer, especially in winter. Let us know if the road is unpaved, muddy, or snowed in so we can schedule the right equipment and realistic timing.
Title and plate confusion
Tip: Utah title and plate rules can be confusing when you haven’t dealt with the DMV in a while. Before pickup, check that the name on the title matches your ID and remove your license plates. If there are multiple owners or a lien release, have those documents ready to avoid delays.
If at-home pickup is tricky
If at-home pickup is tricky—maybe your car is buried in a garage, parked in a tight downtown lot, or stored at a shop—you still have options. In many Utah cities, our tow partners can meet you at a nearby open lot, workplace, or a friend’s house where it’s easier to load the vehicle. If you’re already planning a trip toward a more accessible area, we can schedule pickup there instead. Our team will work with you to find a practical, Utah-friendly plan that keeps the donation easy while still coming to you as much as possible.
Utah pickup coverage
ReviveRides serves donors across Utah (UT), from Salt Lake City, West Valley City, and Murray to Provo, Orem, Ogden, Layton, and Clearfield, plus fast-growing suburbs like Herriman, Riverton, Saratoga Springs, and Eagle Mountain. We also coordinate pickups in southern Utah around St. George and Washington, up north near Logan and Brigham City, and in mountain towns like Park City, Heber City, and Midway. Metro areas often allow quicker scheduling, while remote spots or winter conditions may add a few days. For most donations, you’ll sign your Utah title over to complete the transfer and remove your plates before or at pickup; you’ll then report the transfer to the Utah DMV so their records are updated.
